Welcome back for another quick news round up of some of the exciting new food news that I want to share with you. This week it is all about new openings and I even get to mention Worthing this time round which is great!
Isaac @ re-opens
Not so much a new opening as a re-launch as the excellent Isaac At return to the Brighton restaurant scene today. They have had a bit of a refit and extended the kitchen but more importantly have also extended their opening hours. Now operating a full weekly service this excellent “pop up” can now be considered a fully fledged member of the restaurant scene.
Still operation a set menu style with locally sourced ingredients and seasonality at the centre of everything they do it is an exciting time to visit Isaac’s. I attended the launch event on the 7th and am happy to report that all is well at the good ship Isaac At. It is great to see this fantastic local eatery back and the young team taking things up a level. Keep an eye out for a full write up of my meal in the Brighton and Hove Independent and here at Food, Booze and Reviews.
Pizzaface open in Worthing
Yes, Worthing has got a mention on the blog. Brighton’s best loved takeaway pizza is now available in Worthing and they have even dragged Boho Gelato along with them. It is really fantastic news to have Pizzaface in Worthing and they are a brilliant addition to the steadily growing food scene in my adopted home town. I will be heading along to the opening this evening so cannot give you much of an insight into what to expect; but having lived near the Kemptown branch I can promise you that these are some of the best pizzas in town. With the best ice cream available this side of Sicily in tow your Friday nights in with a pizza and movie are going to be infinitely better.
Brooksteed Ale House 2nd Anniverasary
More Worthing news, who would’ve thought there would be two things happening in the city this week, with the recently crowned Brooksteed Ale House celebrating their second anniversary. This great micropub near Worthing station was recently crowned CAMRA Sussex Pub of the year 2016 and are throwing a beer festival to celebrate two years in business. It started yesterday and runs through to Saturday evening so let’s hope there is some beer left by the time you read this. I am sure that it will prove to be a great weekend, and for those of you in Brighton who are yet to venture this far west I think it would be a perfect time to do so; make sure you pop in to see Nigel in Anchored while you’re at it as well.
Got a news story that you would want me to include in my weekly round up? I would love to hear from restaurants, pubs and bars with any upcoming events/menu changes/openings that you know about. Either message me using the contact details on the blog or use the twitter hashtag #FBRnews and let me help you spread the food love.
