Food, Booze and Reviews…News

Welcome back to another not quite so action packed news post. Despite there being an exciting and vibrant food and drink community in the city there cannot always be things for me to report on. As such I’ve just got a couple of items for you this time with some really exciting news to end with.

Casas Del Bosque Tasting @ Fourth and Church

One of my favourite food destinations in the city, Fourth and Church, will be hosting a little pop in tasting of Chilean wines from Casas Del Bosque winery on Friday. This is not a formal event instead you can just pop in between 6:30 and 8:30 and sample the wines and speak to the knowledgeable and friendly staff about the wine. If you’re really lucky you might stick around for some food and perhaps leave with a bottle or three.

Cask Ale Week event at The Watchmakers Arms

Easily the best place to buy a pint of ale in Hove, The Watchmakers Arms will be hosting a little event to celebrate the start of Cask Ale Week. On Thursday the 22nd they will be not only launching a brand new Green Hop English Pale from Beercraft Brighton but will also be showcasing some new ales from the recently reborn Hand Brew Co. Head brewer Jack Tavare will be on hand to answer all your ale related queries and share in the love of hops.

Butlers Wine Tasting at Lewes Football Club

Wine superstars Butler’s will be hosting a wine tasting at Lewes FC on Friday the 23rd September to raise funds for the club. The event will cost £20 and include 6 wines to taste with the club bar open for refreshing Burning Sky Ales in between. Henry Butler will be personally leading the tasting that will include fizz, red, white and Rose so there is something for everyone. The bar will be open from 6:30pm with a food and drink quiz and cash BBQ also taking place. Tickets are available here.

And Finally…

I promised you some extremely exciting news and here it is….I’m going on holiday for the next couple of weeks – I didn’t say it would be exciting for you. This means that I will probably not post much during that time but be sure to follow me on Instagram where you will get obligatory holiday shots of me eating and drinking, so nothing new there.

I will be keeping up with the FBR…News in the coming months but may switch to a fortnightly update so that I’ve got more stuff for you to read. Let me know what you think of the posts as it would be great to get some feedback.
